After about three major iterations of boat covers for winter storage the one we are now using seems to be holding up quite well and is relatively easy to set up and take down. Currently the winter cover lacks a means to access the boat to work on it without untieing the cover somewhere. If the boat cover frame is extended a few feet aft of the stern rail this would continue to provide protection but allow access and improve ventilation.

Each year when the boat is unattended for a few weeks in the fall, the cormerants and seagulls or the arctic terns make a real mess of it. It takes over a day to clean up if left for a few weeks. A boat cover would prevent this and cleaning the cover would be easier than cleaning the deck. Tina at Yachtcloth Sail & Canvas may be able to construct one at a reasonable price.
