Compac provides a roller that is suitable for bringing the mooring pendant through to reach the mooring cleat. The primary anchor would benefit from a dedicated bow roller. Dedicated bow rollers are available for CQR or other plow, spade, or bruce type anchor. Carefull consideration is needed of interference with the mooring pendant and the bobstay must be avoided or relocated. Modifying the bow pulpit is likely to require some welding and may not be easy.

The bobstay is a source of chafe for the anchor rode if the bow roller does not exit forward of the bobstay attachment. The bobstay is also critical to keeping the rig aloft. An oversized rod or permanent tubing bobstay would both add strength and reduce the potential for chafe. For now a length of PVC tubing was been placed over the existing wire bobstay to reduce chafe.
It might be better to reinforce the bowsprit by welding tubing to the bowsprit steel frame and bringing the tubing down to or near the current attachment point on the hull, welding a plate to the tubing, using a large backing plate, and reinforcing the hull in the area of the backing plate. This would in effect build a bowsprit sufficiently rigid that it would not require a bobstay and free of any high chafe surfaces that could come in contact with the anchor or mooring rode.
