Remote Access - Naming

In the fall of 2000 we ordered our first sailboat from Compac. We took delivery in the spring of 2001. At that point she needed a name. We gave her the name "Remote Access". This is bit of a pun. People who work with computers use the term "remote access" to mean accessing the computers at work (or elsewhere) from a distant location, typically from home for people like me who work at home. Access by sail to remote places is also remote access but I doubt we'll be going anywhere at all exotic until we gain a great deal more sailing experience and maybe in a larger boat. So far the most remote place we've been to are Nantucket, Marthas Vineyard and Block Island. All of these are within 100 miles as the crow flies or within about 120 sailing miles. If we do go to some relatively remote place (if nothing else, remote compared to the local beach), even if it is very close by such as Monomoy Island, and I can manage to use my laptop to even just fetch my email, this will be remote access in two different forms, made possible by the small vessel named "Remote Access". Geek humor doesn't go over very well in most crowds but this is as imaginative as we get.
